Join us for a ride from Campbellford this Tuesday for a 10:00 a.m. start!

NOTE: THE MEETING POINT HAS BEEN CHANGED FROM WHAT IT WAS IN PREVIOUS YEARS, which last year was the Seniors Centre pictured above.

Instead, after arriving in Campbellford, cross over the bridge, turn right in 100 m at the second lights on to Doxsee Street, then turn right again in 100 m at the Free Parking sign. Attached map shows the Campbellford parking spot. You will actually be right behind the LCBO. Since there may not be a public loo on this side of the river you may wish to do your business prior to crossing over the bridge!

The cycling route will be the same as last year. If you desire a map, please print a copy of Two Rivers Tour.

Lunch will be at Apollo’s Pizzeria, the same joint as last year. It has been ordered for 12:45 PM, on the balcony. The menu is to be found at: http://apollos.ca/menu.html. It is a 2-min walk from the new parking location.

Prince Edward Country Ride Anyone?

On a different note, anyone up for hosting a Tuesday Prince Edward County ride tour some time this summer? Brian will be guiding a different tour, so wants to offer it up to anyone who would like to host it. If you’re interested check the calendar for a free date and let Marshall know.

There is no Friday ride this week. Instead, we’re joining the Northumberland Hills Cycling Club for a ride along the Lang Hastings Trail.

Meet in Hastings at Lock 18 for a 10:00 a.m. ride start and a route that has something for everyone!

For those arriving on Monday, anytime after 11, we will have a potluck for supper.  I will have a lasagne made.  I will also make porridge for Tuesday morning or people can bring their own breakfast.

We can sleep about 12 people in the cottage so let me know if you would like a room reserved.

The ride starts at 10 – I have a 52 k route planned and an 80 k route.  The 80 k has a stop for lunch but you might want a bar or two in your pocket because we probably won’t get there until 1.

We will have a potluck on Tuesday around 4:30 or 5 after swimming and hanging out at the cottage, so  we will need appetizers, salads, mains, desserts, BYOB, whatever you feel like bringing.  I will have a pie made, not sure what else.

Please bring sleeping bags, pillow cases, towels, bathing suits, kayaks if you want.

You are welcome to stay both nights if you wish. If it rains, hopefully not, you are still welcome to come up.

We will fit a ride in somehow.

The route is The Scenic Ride. It is 51 km in length, but there are many shortcuts to be had.

It should be noted that the full distance includes a little jog up the infamous Jamieson hill 🙂

For those interested, cold beer (and gourmet food) will be served at the Rhino after the ride.

Pete and Ruth are hosting this Tuesday’s ride starting at 10:00 a.m. from their place.

We’ve put in an order for sunshine, so plan to join us for a new route called “The Good, the Bad and the Waffle.” We’ll provide maps with options for 20, 34 and 46 kilometres. You’ll enjoy good views, bad hills, and for dessert after our salad potluck, a waffle. With berries.

Bring a salad, we’ll supply the rest.

Friday’s ride starts from the Port Hope Town Hall and will follow the Osaca Outing route that offers two options: 46 and 34 kilometre. There is no host, so do print your map.

Note that A Dog’s Purpose will be playing in the bandshell area across from the Town Hall.  This could be a fun activity to do after the ride, weather of course permitting!

Please comment to let riders know by 10:00 a.m. on Friday if you plan to ride. Comment as well if you’d like to hang out afterwards for the movie in the park. We could order pizza from Jim’s and eat it in the park.

Klaus is our host for this Tuesday’s ride that will follow the First Half Flat! route from Gosport. Choose from 56 or 44 kilometre routes.

Meet at the parking lot of the Whistling Duck (formerly Dougalls) at 75 Harbour Street. Lunch will follow there.

Use the comments to let your host know if you plan to join the ride so he can forewarn the restaurant of rough numbers.

Join us at the Cobourg Community Centre at 5:30 for a ride to Bewdley and back.

You can download your copy of the map here. The full route is 54.4 kilometres but can be shortened in a few places.

This is an early invitation to the Tuesday, July 11 ride that will take place at Sue’s cottage on Balsam Lake (see ride calendar for the address). The ride will start at 10:00 as usual. Sue will provide maps.

You’re welcome to arrive on Monday, any time after 11 am if you want to stay overnight, and/or you can stay over on Tuesday night.  According to Sue, there is lots of room in the cottage, or lots of lawn space if anyone wants to camp.

If you plan to join this ride, please make a comment on this post. Let Sue know if you’ll be staying over on either night and whether you’ll want to stay inside or camp.

More details will be provided a week before the 11th in the official Tuesday post.
