Advance Ride Reminder – Tuesday, July 11

This is an early invitation to the Tuesday, July 11 ride that will take place at Sue’s cottage on Balsam Lake (see ride calendar for the address). The ride will start at 10:00 as usual. Sue will provide maps.

You’re welcome to arrive on Monday, any time after 11 am if you want to stay overnight, and/or you can stay over on Tuesday night.  According to Sue, there is lots of room in the cottage, or lots of lawn space if anyone wants to camp.

If you plan to join this ride, please make a comment on this post. Let Sue know if you’ll be staying over on either night and whether you’ll want to stay inside or camp.

More details will be provided a week before the 11th in the official Tuesday post.

Ride Reminder – Tuesday, June 13

Pete is your host for Tuesday’s ride that starts from the Port Hope Town Hall at 10:00.

Join us as we travel East out of town, following the Hope with Hamilton route, or as Brian likes to call it “La Route des Séparatistes”. The full distance is 50 kilometres, but you can shorten it in two places to do 32 kilometres.

Lunch reservations are for 1:00 at Turtle Johns at 64 John Street in Port Hope.

Ride Reminder – Friday, June 9

Friday’s ride begins at 5:30 from the Cobourg Community Centre. The route will be the Shelter Valley Road ride, a 52-kilometre ride that can be easily shortened.

Note that this is a different route from the one suggested earlier in the week. We are changing it based on Brian’s comment about length and Payn Road portion that is problematic.

Please print your own maps and use the comments to let other riders know you will be joining the ride. Note that the starting location is the Cobourg Community Centre and NOT the marina as indicated on the map.

Ride Reminder – Tuesday, June 6

Klaus is our host for this Tuesday’s ride that will follow the First Half Flat! route from Gosport. Choose from 56 or 44 kilometre routes.

Meet at the parking lot of the Whistling Duck (formerly Dougalls) at 75 Harbour Street. Lunch will follow there.

Use the comments to let your host know if you plan to join the ride so he can forewarn the restaurant of rough numbers.

Ride Reminder – Friday, June 2

Our new members, Jennifer and Andy, will host this Friday’s ride from their home in Campbellcroft.

Brian H. has finalized a brand new route called The Oak Hills with distances of 50 and 37 kilometres. The map is now in the Port Hope section of our local routes.

Pot luck will follow, so pull out your favorite recipes! Beware of two big lovable dogs.

Please comment if you plan to join the ride or the social afterwards. And, if you do, may you bring good weather in your wake.Save
