Cycling from Colborne – Tuesday, September 24

Richard and Irene are your hosts for Tuesday’s ride starting at 10:00 am from the Keeler Centre in Colbourne (80 DivisionStreet). Their invitation is below.

Join us for some Telephone Road Madness – a route with both long and short rides that returns to Colbourne via Durham Rd (Brian H’s comment “enjoy the 70 km/hr descent!”)

The road has been recently graveled with large loose stones. Very unpleasant. Irene walked down the steep bits and Richard slowly descended using his left leg to keep the bike upright.

We highly recommend either Zig Zagging down Elgin or the more leisurely and pleasant descent down Parliament into Colbourne.

The cafe in Grafton is open and might be a good place to get a shot of caffeine before tackling the hills. It’s also a good turn around point for a lighter ride. There are washrooms at our start/end point. Lunch will be at the Golden Rooster.

    1. Still not home – enjoying the Fall colours in the Gatineau Park. Too bad I am missing all these great routes – too bad Durham is still torn up 😦
