Riding from Campbellcroft – Tuesday, August 13

Jennifer and Andy will host Tuesday’s ride from their home starting at 10 am.

We will follow The Oak Hills route which offers 50-km and 37-km options and apparently, also a 27-km option. The longer route does have Stark Hill in it, so be prepared for a climbing challenge.

Chili will be the main lunch offering – you’re welcome to bring salad accompaniments or desserts.

Good news – the weather forecast for Tuesday is actually improving since earlier in the week. Should it worsen, Jennifer will make the call Monday evening re: whether to cancel!

FYI There are a number of ways to shorten the route but one of the best is to cut off the 7 th line loop, which includes Mill St. & Deans Hill back to the deadly Oak Hill Hill. Instead of turning right (TR ) onto 7 th line one just continues straight on #65 to CR 9, straight over to Beaver Meadow @ Elizabethville. Go north & then TL onto Oak Hill Rd. (West of that lovely but brutal hill)……in a jiffy you are at 178 where Gideon & Piper await your arrival…….Brian & Barb did this route last year, I believe.

Rarin’ to go Andy and Jennifer. Rain forecast is down to 40% which means 60% no rain! I’ll bring some kind of bread depending on time, cornbread or ????

The the plan for us Tuesday is for me to cycle from Port Hope. Richard is is recovering well from hernia surgery but no cycling 🚴‍♀️ for a couple of weeks, however he’ll be driving up later to sample the chili 😉

Okay, the ride is on as now only 20% chance of rain at 10 am thru 1 pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Rain or sunshine……if some people could throw in a chair for outside luncheon it would help we have some but perhaps not enough! Also please print your map if possible. Thx.

Thanks Jennifer and Andy for hosting today’s event. What a great ride and grand buffet at your beautiful home. I’m not sure I could have pulled myself up even one more hill. But the views were worth it.

Awesome ride thanks everyone for coming out. Someone left a box on the drive with two bentbox bike carriers and parahenelia. Should we bring it to the Friday ride?
