Cycling from the Dutch Oven parking lot in Cobourg – Friday, April 6 Ride Reminder

Jen P. is your host for this Friday’s ride at 5:30 out of Cobourg. Here’s her invitation:

The ride will start at 5:30 PM in the free parking lot behind Dutch Oven, also across from the outdoor rink off Albert Street (northeast of LCBO).

Dinner reservations are for 7:30 at The Oasis under Poole. We are doing the Spring Fling route.
Looking forward to seeing you all out!!

Choose from three route options: 31, 41 or 45 kilometres. Brian has created a handy map below to help you find your way to the start location.

We’ll be home, weather permitting, and will try to get ourselves at least to dinner. Riding is iffy and we are dealing with weather shock on our way. Today (Arkansas) we are changing from shorts and T-shirts to jeans and long sleeves. So looking forward to seeing all of you again.

It will be wonderful to see both of you again – you have been away far too long! Bring some warm weather back with you 🙂

If the forecast cooperates, like like it did today, I plan to ride but no Oasis.

I plan to make a decision about this on Friday morning as I am not partial to riding in snow at this time of the year 🙂

7:30 PM, Thursday – Jen and I will make a final decision regarding Friday’s ride on Friday morning around 7:00 AM. Right now, the forecast is for snow between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM and a high of +2 C, so it does not look promising (:

Although we are not meant to get a great deal of snow today, the wind will pick up but the temperature will not. Since Jen and I are of the opinion that even intrepid Freewheelers will not elect to ride in these conditions, we are calling tonight’s ride off. Let’s hope for some spring-like weather next Friday 🙂

Oh great. Now I have to cook dinner tonight…… We tried our best to bring some warm weather back from Texas but failed miserably. Hope to see you all soon. Miss the great conversation and fun – oh….and the riding 🙂

      Welcome home!
Yes, you sure failed miserably in the weather department as winter just refuses to leave us. The temperature has been below seasonal ever since I returned from the UK – and that was almost four weeks ago! I think we will give spring a miss this year and go straight from winter to summer 🙂
