Klaus, Marshall & Sue
Klaus will be our host for our first Tuesday ride of the season that starts and ends at the Mill in Cobourg. Dress warmly!
The route we’ll follow is the Spring Fling with distances of 32, 41 and 45 km.
Note: The ride will start and end at The Mill rather than the CCC as per Brian’s map. As is always the case, Brian’s description of this ride being “relatively flat” is just that, “relatively”!! For those who don’t wish any hills, following the Waterfront Trail east as far as you like could also be an option.
Join us afterwards for lunch at The Mill.
As it’s the start of the new season, let’s all be mindful of safety and spend a few minutes reviewing our safety laws and guidelines.
Looking forward to our first Tuesday ride of the season. Fingers crossed on the weather. Klaus, see what you can do to turn up the temperature a bit.

I’m trying, I’m trying…weather looks promising (relatively) today so I’ll keep trying and we will see what we will see.

Thank you for today’s ride, Klaus. In spite of the chilly conditions, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Too bad about Bickle Hill, though 🙂

I will be there, not sure about lunch though.

FYI, I seem to have left the direction arrows off the main, red, route. In case you are wondering Spring Flings in a counter-clockwise direction!

Damn ……I fell on ice this AM while walking the dogs. Returned from Cuba Friday and then to Ottawa so made the erroneous assumption all the ice would have melted on our trails and neglected to put on my spikes. Twisted my ankle badly so unable to walk much or bike now…….not a good start to the season for moi! Ice and elevation at the moment.

The weather for tomorrow looks somewhat grim but the rain is not supposed to start until after 1:00…we may even have a bit of sun! By that time we should be back at The Mill. I did the ride today (38Km) at a leisurely pace (without Bickle Hill!) and it took roughly two hours so we should easily be done before the rain starts. It will be chilly so dress accordingly.
I will confirm this before 8:00 am tomorrow.

OK, it is Tuesday morning and the storm from Colorado is heading our way! April is always so much “fun” 😂 That said, I am still planning to ride today as it could be the last opportunity for a while and we should finish before the rain (snow?) starts. That’s it, today’s big decision made😀

It still shows no rain till 1:00. I hope we can fit the ride in!

The radar has the rain south of the lake so I think we are good to go. It may not be ideal but I think rain will not be an issue. Hope to see you at 10:00!

We are working on a house project, so Barry won’t be out today. I am still debating. I may ride from here, returning to here, so basically riding on my own. Won’t be there for lunch. Enjoy!
