Cycling from Baltimore – Friday, March 30 Ride Reminder

Welcome Ganaraska Freewheelers to the first ride of the 2018 season starting at 3:00 pm from Wayne & Brenda’s in Baltimore. You’ll find their address in the Ride Calendar and on the Member Directory. If you are not a member, but interested in joining us on this ride, please email ganaraskafreewheelers@gmail.com so we can provide details.

As it’s the start of the season, Brenda and Wayne plan to go easy with you – aiming for a route of @ 30km. Of course there will be the option to shorten or lengthen your ride if you so desire. Maps will be available. Dress warmly!

The traditional GF potluck will follow. Make sure to pack your plates, glasses and utensils, along with your food offering and beverage of choice.

Please consider doing three things:

  1. Comment if you plan to join the ride so Wayne and Brenda have an idea of numbers and your cycling companions can anticipate a riding buddy.
  2. Pray for good weather! (But plan to come even if it does rain so we can kick off the new season.)
  3. Let Brian H. know if you can host next Friday, as for now, it’s without a host.

Note: Password to the Member Directory has not changed from last year – it will change in the first week of April and you will receive an email soon with the details.

We look forward to seeing everyone – whether you ride or not! We have a route with three options. For now the weather gods are smiling on us – we hope it will stay like that. Just a reminder that the rural roads have not been swept yet so there will be sand on the roads. Looking forward to a wonderful riding season!

Thank you so much, Brenda and Wayne, for inviting all of us to your lovely home on Friday for the first ride of the 2018 season. Everything (the route, the weather, the company and, of course, the food) was wonderful 🙂 The GFW really is a very special group of cyclists, and you two are the best!

I had hoped to ride but have just learned that grandkids will be here and Margaret tells me that grandkids trump biking!😞

No cycling for me on Friday, however Richard is thinking of cycling from home but the snow on Bickle Hill might be a problem 😉 …. We’ll both be there for supper.

This note has nothing to do with this afternoon’s riveting ride; rather, it is a reminder that we do not have a host for next Friday’s ride (April 6th). There is no obligation to host a pot-luck ride from your home. Instead you may simply host it just like a Tuesday morning ride – choose a starting location, a wonderful route and an après-ride dining venue. If no-one volunteers by Tuesday, “Plan B” will kick in! The success of our wonderful club obviously depends upon all members helping out, so why not send me an email (bhedney@gmail.com) and say “I will !”).
