Cycling from Peterborough – Tuesday, October 1

Irene and Richard are doing a double hitter, hosting Tuesday’s 10:00 am ride from Peterborough. Their invitation is below.

We’re missing someone. Who are we missing?
Marshall! Where’s Irene & Richard?

Weather permitting, the ride on Tuesday is the Lakefield & Young’s Point route , commencing from Beavermead Park, just off of Ashburnham Drive. Lunch is at the Ashburnham Ale House, located at 128 Hunter St. East.

Notes:
The Rotary Club Trail is closed for a small section between Stanley and Hazlitt Street, however detours are very clearly marked. The route from Lakefield to Young’s Point is beautiful 😊.

Richard and I will cycle the Trail to Lakefield and stop for coffee at the Nutty Bean Cafe, located at 33 Queen Street, then return to Peterborough for a route of about 30 km.

Just a suggestion: The restaurant is actually located on the Rotary Trail about a kilometre or less from the Beavermead Park so rather than cycle back to our cars and then drive to Ashburnham, I think Richard and I will stop off for lunch then cycle back to our car.

Lastly, being a “Butterfly Cyclist” …. we’ll check the weather forecast on Tuesday morning and any POP at 70% or over, the ride will be cancelled.

  1. Ruth, if I’m remembering correctly, the idea of the lone picture of me was for you to photo shop me into the group picture…….I guess you were just kidding me….

  2. Lucky me – I just came home in time for one of my favourite rides😊 I shall be there for sure, even if there is the odd flurry.

  3. It’s looking like we’ll have a few hours of cycling time and even be quite warm …. bizarre weather for this time of year! The gravel trail past Trenton University has one or two muddy spots, however it’s easy to hop out onto the river road which is a more interesting ride anyway.
