This is the last ride I shall have to miss due to my England trip. Too bad as I love this route😂 Amazingly, there has been no rain over here!

Klaus, you never give up…you don’t really believe that you can pull this off?? I’m seeing a slight chance of rain in the forecast……I’ll be there anyway. Love this ride.

We’re planning on cycling, though hopefully it will stay dry and sunny because last time I rode this route it poured with rain and I had to stash my my bike in the back of a taxi for the last 10k because I didn’t want my expensive hearing equipment to get wet. 😉

I have made reservations for 1:00 at the Whistling Duck. They open at 11:30 so if you get back earlier than that you may wish to visit The Harbourview Cafe or Lola’s in Brighton first. Looping Presqu’ile is also an option I guess.
Please park as far to the East of the parking lot as you can as we have been given “special” permission to park there.
Print your own maps please or, follow me. The roads are in reasonable shape with the odd pothole here or there but they are not flooded…the worst stretch is along the bike path on Hwy 64 with parts being covered with bits of asphalt, sort of like Hwy 2 around Cobourg.
Weather should be OK by 10:00 but it will be cooler down by the waterfront so dress accordingly.
I will make the call at 8:00 am but I’m feeling optimistic. 🙂

I won’t be able to make it after all since I am taking Nolan to an appointment and it’s Emily’s birthday so I want to spend time with her after school. Have fun.

So it looks pretty miserable out there at the moment but it may or may not clear enough by 10:00 and since I’m not very good with “may or may not” I’m going to cancel today’s ride. I’ll try again later in the season.😢

It is drizzling here Klaus. A pity we couldn’t go this afternoon when it is looking to clear…..thx for trying.

Klaus – you seem to have the worst luck with this ride! No rain over here in England; in fact I haven’t seen a drop since I arrived nine days ago! Back home tomorrow – I will bring some sunshine with me 😀

We’ve been checking the radar and hourly but it is up and down/rain no rain so it is probably the only call you could make. Sorry Klaus as we were looking forward to it and now I have to use the day to clean the house!

Since early morning Richard has been prepped to ride and since I planned to take a mid ride break to do some shopping at the Hollandale Garden Center (to buy a Hydrangea tree) we’re still planning on taking a trip to Brighton, however cycling is secondary to shopping 😊
