Cycling from the Bewdley Community Centre – Saturday, April 28

We had a lively group of cyclists/hungry diners for Friday’s ride out of Cobourg. And our very own camera man (thanks Harold dK!) who swept the route and captured some great moments.

This is a reminder that this week’s Friday ride moves to Saturday, April 28 at 10:30 a.m.

Join us for the Two Lakes Route (56 or 37 kilometres), starting from the Bewdley Community Centre.

Lunch will follow at Rhino’s.

Note: Next Friday, May 4 ride needs a host! Anyone up for it? Contact Brian H.

It is 8:00 AM on Friday and I am writing this to let you know that I am keeping a watchful eye on the weekend weather forecast. The experts all seem to agree that there will be a low pressure system moving through our region over the weekend; however, there seems to be some disagreement as to the timing of the ensuing precipitation. We MAY get lucky on Saturday and get our ride in before the showers commence. In any case, I plan to make a decision this evening regarding Saturday’s ride, so be sure to check back later!

At 8:00 PM on Friday, the forecast is calling for “Chance of Showers” for Saturday morning. Consequently, I plan to be at the Bewdley Arena at 10:30 AM on Saturday for sure and to leave you to make your own decisions about whether to ride or not. Now that’s a “cop out” if ever I heard one 🙂
“Hindsight is 20/20” and tonight would have been a lovely evening for a ride. Go figure!

The roads are dry at 7:00 AM and I still plan to be at the Bewdley Arena by 10:30 AM 🙂
There are still two Fridays in May that require hosts. These are May 4th (this coming Friday!) and May 25th. If no one is forthcoming, “Plan B” will kick in – in which case we will announce a starting location and a route but leave it up to the participants to figure out a place to eat after the ride.

All dressed, packed and ready to go. Went out with the dogs and it is raining here (9:45) in Cobourg. John checked the radar and after much hemming and hawing we have decided to unpack and forego the cold and likely wet. Sorry Brian and any other brave souls.

That’s too bad as eight of us had a great ride with NO rain. Actually, the rain started as we staggered out of Rhino’s at 3 PM 🙂

Just received a call from Lilianne. Got halfway to Bewdley and got rained on. She’s reluctantly making a u-turn for home.
