Cycling from Cobourg – Saturday, November 3

Say it isn’t so! Next Saturday is our last official weekend ride of the 2018 season (Klaus is hosting the last Tuesday ride on November 6!). Ride starts at 2:00 pm. If you’re only coming for the potluck, aim to be there after 5:00.

Jacquie and Brian are hosting Saturday’s ride/potluck that will hopefully engage a full house! You’ll find their address in the Calendar or Member Directory.

Here is their invitation.

We will act as hosts for the Saturday, 3rd November ride from our home in Cobourg, to be followed by a pot luck. Please bring grub, to be shared, and your drinks and utensils, as always. The route map is on the website as ‘Brian N’s Favourite‘ – we will have some copies, but please print your own, if possible. For really slow riders (Brian N., for instance) a ride along Lakeshore and return, is a possible alternative.

See you there.

Cycling from Minden – Saturday, October 13

From the Haliburton Sculpture Forest

Willy and Sue are hosting Saturday’s ride starting from the Minden Rotary Park starting at 10:30.

The Minden to Haliburton ride will be about 62 k. Option for a shorter 52 k route is available. Or a longer 82 k route. We can take a look at the Haliburton Sculpture Forest and have lunch at a restaurant in Haliburton.

There are some hills, nothing too bad. Parking will be at the Minden Rotary Park which is just off 35 Hwy to the left as you are heading north. It is just past the Kawartha Dairy Outlet. Hopefully the colours will still be beautiful at this time.

Castleton Ride Update for Tuesday, October 2

Just got off the phone with Harold re: tomorrow’s ride. Weather forecast is looking not so great but he has a welcome home, a fridge full of burgers and a flexible spirit! Wednesday is challenging for a rain date, as he has a commitment in the morning. So . . . . how about rain or shine?

Will you please comment if you will make it to Harold’s tomorrow (Tuesday), rain or shine? As we know, the weather gods can be fickle – though threatening rain, they can be kind to us for a brief window to get some clicks in (especially when Brian H. is around). Worse case scenario, we’ll hunker down and enjoy each other’s company and a nice lunch.

And if you do plan to come, remember to bring a food bank contribution!
