Riding from Port Hope Town Hall – Tuesday, May 14

Field of Lilacs

Klaus will be your host for a ride starting at 10:00 a.m. from the Port Hope Town Hall. We’ll follow Le Tour de Cobourg map, a relatively flat route of 50 kilometres with options to shorten.

Lunch will follow at the Thirsty Goose on Walton Street.

Bring good weather!

  1. Well, the term “relatively flat” is a Brian Hedney expression which usually means that there are hills. The first 20 or so km are in fact flat (Port Hope to McEwen) along the Waterfront Trail and could provide roughly 40 Km for an out and back ride. Then you have not only McEwen to contend with (my personal nemesis) but Hill 60, followed by Division and finally Bickle Hill…but, don’t be alarmed…just be aware. You could use this as a training run for Brian’s “Northumberland Classic” on the 24th.
    May there be sunshine ☀️!

  3. Yes Brian, this truly is a Klaus ride and there is now rain in the forecast. BUT lets all be optimistic. I’m hard up for a ride, maybe we should go rain or shine!!!

  4. There appears to be window of opportunity for a rainless ride today so I plan to be at the start at 10:00 dressed in my winter gear…hope to see somebody there to ride with but if not, I’ll just come home and go back to bed.

  5. Enjoying a cup of coffee on the back deck and I just caught a glimpse of the sun 🙂
The roads are starting to dry up, there is very little wind, so let the ride commence!

  6. Thought I’d left a comment from my phone but guess it didn’t arrive. Sorry to miss the ride but we had a friend emergency that got in the way of our riding. Sorry Klaus and all.

    1. We missed you! I was surrounded by a sea of stifling burgers (and one grilled cheese). They were kind enough to share their French fries.
