Harold King of the Corn Field!
RIDE CANCELLED
Harold D. is your host for the next two Tuesday rides. Both rides will start from his home in Castleton. This Tuesday’s route will be a Warkworth Roller. Burgers are on Harold; bring along your potluck accompaniment, drinks, plates and utensils. Ruth is the backup lead for the ride, but she will be asking around to see if anyone who plans to attend would like to lead the ride.
Note:
In the spirit of a themed ride, we’re inviting members to donate to a Ganaraska Freewheelers food drive on the next three rides before Thanksgiving – i.e., the next two Tuesday rides hosted by Harold and Willy’s ride next Friday. We know you all have your favorite causes that you donate to, so certainly understand if you’d like to pass. However, in the spirit of gratitude for all the good things in our lives, as we near our Thanksgiving holiday, we’re asking you to bring a food offering for our club drive. If you’d prefer to give cash, Harold will have envelopes for you. We’ll aim to get all our donations to the food bank in time to be distributed for Thanksgiving. Thanks in advance!
I love the picture of Harold in the cornfield 😊
Can’t make this one Harold, as I am still in Nova Scotia. Sorry – it sounds like fun!

Looks like a rainy day all day on Tuesday into Wednesday!

I agree with Brian and Jacquie, the weather forecast for Tuesday has deteriorated to 90% chance of rain …. which isn’t good. So at this stage not sure what to say.. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Jacquie and Irene – thanks for your thoughts – I will call Harold in the morning and suggest he keep the burgers in the freezer until next Tuesday for the cyclocross ride; let’s see what he says.

No rain out here on the Bay of Fundy – not a cloud in sight – mind you the ground was white with frost at 6 AM this morning 🙂

Probably a good idea to postphone as if it 90% chance of rain we likely won’t make it this week. A fair distance to drive for many of us……sadly will miss fri. again as have theatre tickets in T.O.

Regardless of the weather or my participation, I will make every effort to collect whatever contributions are made and deliver them to our local food bank before Thanksgiving.

Thank you for the reminder Klaus 🙂 since I’d forgotten about the donations. It usually takes a couple of days for us to prep a Food Bank bag, so will bring contributions to either Willy’s ride Friday or to Harold’s ride next week.

Richard says count him in for lunch whatever the weather. He’ll bring a Tikka Masala curry to share with anyone prepared to brave the elements.

Hello freewheelers – I spoke with Harold and discussed options – lunch only, rain day alternative. Given weather over the next couple days, distance for some and likelihood of low turnout, he would like to cancel tomorrow’s ride and bbq. Watch out for details for next Tuesday’s ride which Harold will be hosting.
