Riding from Carolyn Street Rink in Port Hope – June 19

Jennifer and Andy are our hosts for Tuesday’s ride that will start from the Caroline Street Rink’s parking lot at 40 Caroline Street in Port Hope (see map below). We’ll follow the 50-kilometre Tour de Cobourg route.

Lunch will be at a new Port Hope diner, the Local 90 Bar and Kitchen In Port Hope. Apparently, Jennifer twisted their arm to open up just for the Freewheelers, so plan to join us.

  1. …..great & the weather gods have moved from 60 to 10% precip. Yes tons of options for everyone as well as Bickle and John /Barb’s hilly home territory. Will be HOT so please bring lotsa’ water and sunscreen. Andy & I rode the whole route with my ‘wee’ sister last Sunday & enjoyed it. Good suggestion Marshal and Brian…….thx.

  2. Aww shucks…….received word that due to an emergency the Port Hope public works dept. is needing to shut water off in & around Local No.90 eatery so the owner Dana is unable to open up for us after all. I think we should still park at Carolyn St. Ice rink but will need to eat elsewhere. The Carlyle on John St. Is now reserved for 10 on their patio for 1 pm ish……..I hope people are not too disappointed. The Carlyle has new owners and it will be good to test this eating establishment out also. Please advise if you are NOT coming for lunch and previously had said you were…..The Carlyle has assured me they will have water as theirs was shut off previously!

  3. Richard and I will be there for eats 🙂 We’ll both be figuring on short rides as Richard has an early morning docs appointment.
