Riding from Port Hope – Friday, April 13

This Friday, we’ll be riding from Deb Park’s in Port Hope (see address in member directory). Brian will lead the ride, weather dependent!

The full distance is just over 41 kilometres, but there are a few options to shorten it. Pot luck will follow, so bring your goodies!

  2. Ankle is on the mend more or less BUT still not double digits and rain in the forecast. Will the pot luck proceed rain or shine….just wondering as would love to see everyone.

    1. I am so pleased that your ankle is on the mend as we have really missed you on our recent rides. I believe Deb is planning to go ahead with the pot-luck regardless of the weather, and I am sure she will let us all know one way or the other.

      As an aside, we now have all of the remaining April “Friday” rides covered (see the Calendar for details), so we are now looking to get the May rides looked after. You do not necessarily need to host the ride from your home and you could even do something “special” on a Saturday or Sunday. So, why not send me a quick email (bhedney@gmail.com) to reserve your fabulous May ride? You don’t even need to worry about the details at this stage – you can, if you wish, simply say “details to follow”. Could it be any easier?

  7. As Brian has already mentioned I’d like to go ahead with the pot luck even if the ride is rained out. It doesn’t look very promising but you never know maybe it will be the calm before the storm !

  12. I have just returned from a wonderful pre-rain mountain bike tour of Port Hope 😀 If it is not raining at 5:30 PM I will at Deb’s for my second Ride of the day. At 11:00 AM I am drinking coffee on my back deck and the sun is trying to break through the clouds. Think positive!

  13. Friday @ 4:00 PM: The sun is trying to shine here in Port Hope! If it is not raining at 5:00 PM, I plan to cycle over to Deb’s from my house to ascertain whether or not anyone is interested in riding tonight. I will leave you to make your own decision with regards to this crazy weather 🙂

  15. A huge thank you must surely be extended to Deb for hosting a highly successful Freewheelers pot-luck last night. It was so nice to get together with everyone again and we all really appreciated Deb’s wonderful hospitality. At least one member of the Club went for a bike ride, albeit a very short one! Hoping for sunshine for Jen’s ride next Friday 🙂

    1. It was wonderful to see everyone and meet some new faces! Thanks to everyone for coming out.
      My mother always said when people leave things behind it means they want to come back! I have a blue plastic tumbler, two large serving spoons and a dish towel 😌
