Klaus is our host for this Tuesday’s ride that will follow the First Half Flat! route from Gosport. Choose from 56 or 44 kilometre routes.
Meet at the parking lot of the Whistling Duck (formerly Dougalls) at 75 Harbour Street. Lunch will follow there.
Use the comments to let your host know if you plan to join the ride so he can forewarn the restaurant of rough numbers.
Hoping to ride & do lunch…….if I can find the place?

we will ride weather permitting. Dougalls was for sale for a couple years and must have finally sold.

I am of the opinion that meteorological conditions will inhibit our abilities to turn the pedals of our velocipedes tomorrow. However, if the sun should make an appearance I shall be in Brighton for the 10:00 AM commencement.

Dougall’s was bought by a very nice new lady who assured me that parking in their lot earlier than they open would not be an issue as long as we don’t take the “prime” spaces. Some of the parking by the cedars on the East side is still flooded. It is now called “Whistling Duck” but their menu is essentially the same.
However, I tend to agree with BrianH that the weather gods won’t be on our side. I will make the call around 8:00.
If the ride is indeed cancelled I hope to reschedule for the 27th.

If conditions are not suitable for biking, we would probably drive down just for lunch if anyone else is interested – some small compensation for a lost ride – ??

I won’t be able to ride tomorrow – sorry, Klaus.

I’ve been sitting here watching out my window hoping for a sign. The radar for Brighton doesn’t look promising…in fact the rain should be starting just about as we are due to set out. I will cancel this ride and ask Marshall to reschedule it for May 27. Sorry. If there is interest in driving out to The Whistling Duck let Jacquie know and I may join you…12:00??

OK Klaus, I’ll ask Ruth to reschedule this ride to June 27th.
Talking about scheduling rides, we need a host for next Tuesday. Quickly, who wants to volunteer? Send me an email.

To avoid leaving anyone hanging, we have decided against ‘Duck – Whistling’ – in any case, the drive would not be very attractive. See you later.
